Behold, he is coming... “As a character, the Bird God taps into a mystical, less logical aspect to my characters' universe. Is he the John the Baptist to YOD's Jesus?” James Jarvis, February 08. The Bird God is a soft vinyl figure which stands approximately 18cm tall. It was designed to celebrate the release of James Jarvis’ recent book, ‘Selected Drawings’ and the forthcoming online exhibition/sale of original work included in the book. The character was lifted and developed directly from its pages. In the words of the designer: “The Bird God figure is interesting because the initial inspiration for the toy came directly from a drawing, rather than emerging as an idea that is then shaped and refined by the drawing process. The character that became Bird God had been lurking in the background of my drawings for several years without ever exactly defining itself as a character. In the process of compiling my book, Selected Drawings, I noticed just how omnipresent he had become in my work.” There will be three colours available. The orange representing day, the dark blue representing night, and a super limited online store only glow-in-the-dark Special Edition Strictly 1 per customer.
